Tattoos

I have several ideas for tattoos that I am planning on getting in the next couple of years. I've wanted them for at least 6 years now so I know that it's something i really want. When my boyfriend and I met he had three. On one wrist he has "Let God" and on the other he has "Let Go" and a cross necklace on his right forearm. We have been together for three years and he now has 9. All of them mean something to him. He's straight edge so he has three for that, one of them for music, a portrait of Audrey Hepburn and then one for me. All of them are significant and he plans them out and thinks about exactly what he wants before he gets it. However, not everyone does.
People get tattoos because they think they are funny, or pretty or cool or whatever the reason and they don't always turn out that great. I decided to google search "bad tattoos." I could have never mentally prepared myself for what I found. This one for instance is funny, but not something that I would want on my body for the rest of my life. I can't even begin to formulate the reasoning behind this one. This is defiantly a to each his own type situation. There are literally thousands of results. Some of them are doubled but it's OK because those are the good ones that are almost to bad to believe they are real. I found one of a man who is extremely proud of his nick name. Again to each his own. He has Mr. Cool ICE tattooed on his body 9 times that we can see from these pictures. I would hope that this is really his nick name and that it is one he plans on keeping. If you are ever in need of a good laugh, I reccommend google searching "Bad Tattoos" because there are some freaking hilarious ones out there. My only plea, please think about what you are getting done before it is made a part of your body.

  2. HAHA Wow, those are great photos. Who does that? I don't have any tattoos, but I am the same way you are--they should be well thought out. I would consider getting something tattooed for my future husband/kids/etc. But, meaningless tattoos that are just meant to be funny are weird because you're stuck with them for life. My friend's mom is in the middle of getting one lasered off that she got when she was young and she said it's more painful than childbirth. Good luck deciding on what to get.

  3. These are hilarious! This guy I know got his last name tattooed on his back (Aragona) and the guy somehow spelled it wrong. I know this other guy who got the word "Taco" tattooed on his leg. It was his nickname but just became his nickname two months before he got it tattooed on himself. I'm sure he will be regretting that later in life. I want a tattoo so bad, a half sleeve. I don't have any so I want a huge piece of art on my arm, but I'm so worried that I'll regret it when I'm older, since it will be wrinkly and I'd have to wear long sleeves all the time.

  4. Ha, wow. Some people are just ridiculous. You have to wonder what type of profession "Mr. Cool Ice" is involved with because any job interview he goes to that doesn't promote tattoos in their organizational culture is going to question what he has on his body and why. I've always thought about a tattoo and if I were to ever get one, what it would be. I think it's safe to say, that if I ever lost someone who was very close to me (brother, friend, mother, father, etc.) that I would have some type of reminder on my arm as to who they were and what they meant to me. I've been fortunate enough to live my life without losing anyone who I knew very well or who I was close with. Tattoos are serious because they're permanently placed on your body. People should always consider what it is that they're inking on their skin before going through with it.

  5. Wow! The cat tattoo is truly a bad tattoo.

I am glad that your boyfriend is so thorough when he decides to get another one. Although there are procedures to remove them this is a work of art that you can never sell because you are tired of looking at it. I personally do not have any ink (although I have seriously considered it) because I am SOOOOOOO indecisive. I have picked out many when I was younger, but did not go through with it because I didn't want to look at the same thing for the rest of my life.

I think tattoos are great when they mean something, because they can be a constant reminder of something important to you. I think you will enjoy whatever you choose as long as you considered all of your options. Let us know what you choose.

  6. I have two tattoos myself and they are both meaningful to me. One is a cross on my right arm and the other an eagle on my back with Isaiah 40:31 written underneath it (look it up). But they are well thought out and meaningful to me. I completely agree that some people make spur of the moment decisions on tattoos and you can tell because they just aren’t that good.

  7. haha wow those were terrible tattoos.
I don't have any but I really want one, but I agree they should be well thought out and mean something.
I can list a bunch of people that I know personally that have some terrible tattoos, but it's their bodies and they have to live with them, not me.
I love when people with tattoos can tell me a cool story or the meaning to their tattoos, it makes them seem like a road map to their lives, like I know a little bit about those people because of their tattoos.
Good luck on your search and I expect to see pictures if you get one soon :)

  8. haha awesome post. It's true, many people don't think about the long term ramifications about their tattoos. Personally, I don't think I could ever get a tattoo. There is nothing that I would like to put permanently on my body. Maybe if someone close to me passed away, I would put their initials on my arm, but that would be about it. But I can admire a well thought out, artistic tattoo. It really is a work of art.
